about
As any good overture should, this piece introduces most of the major themes heard throughout the piece as a whole. This was also the next to last song written for From The Lake.
Narratively, the music in Pinkerton Overture is just meant to set the stage, so to speak, covering the town of Pinkerton and most of the major characters in the story. Near the end of the piece, Defiance accepts The Fat Man's empty promise of money and power and all she had to do was to drink some water from the lake. Days later she is found dead, floating in the lake. She had been murdered.
