about

This marks the first time The Fat Man's Theme is heard in full. The Main Theme also appears. Contrary to what one might expect when reading a title like "The Fat Man's Dance", there's a lot of elegance in the music. This reflects The Fat Man's uncanny ability to talk himself out of - or into - any situation and to con people into giving him everything he wants. He knows all the right words, and the music reflects that skill.

It has become a well-known fact around Pinkerton that Defiance is alive. Some of the townspeople have blamed The Fat Man for this and some even went so far as to confront him, but he assured them of his innocence and that he would never participate in any sort of unholy ritual that so obviously must have been performed in order to bring this young woman back into the arms of her fiance. Surely Catastrophe must be the heathen their pitchforks are looking for.
